Elevating the Game: A New Era for Women’s Tennis

In a momentous stride for women’s tennis, the Public Investment Fund (PIF) has entered into a multi-year partnership with the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), marking a historic collaboration aimed at revolutionizing the sport. As part of this landmark deal, PIF will become the first-ever naming partner of the WTA Rankings, the highest official ranking system for women’s professional tennis players.

This partnership goes beyond sponsorship—it is a strategic alliance that aims to enhance opportunities for players at every level of the sport. PIF and the WTA will work together to develop and expand initiatives that nurture the next generation of tennis stars, providing young players with the tools and platforms they need to succeed on the global stage.

Marina Storti, CEO of WTA Ventures, expressed enthusiasm for this new chapter in the sport’s history, stating, “We are delighted to welcome PIF as a Global Partner of the WTA and our first-ever official naming partner of the WTA Rankings. Together, we look forward to sharing the journey of our talented players across the season, as we continue to grow the sport, creating more fans of tennis and inspiring more young people to take up the game.”

This partnership follows PIF’s recent involvement with the ATP, making it the only global partner across both major tennis tours. With the WTA Finals now set to be hosted in Riyadh for the next three years, this collaboration signals a powerful shift in the landscape of women’s sports.

Mohamed AlSayyad, Head of Corporate Brand at PIF, highlighted the significance of this partnership, noting, “Through our partnership with WTA, PIF will continue to be a catalyst for the growth of women’s sport. We look forward to working with the WTA to increase participation and inspire the next generation of talent.”

PIF’s expanding portfolio of sponsorships underscores its commitment to investing in initiatives that drive positive global impact. This latest venture aligns seamlessly with PIF’s ambition to elevate women’s tennis, fostering inclusivity, sustainability, and youth engagement in sport.
