On April 22 at 6:30 p.m., Rothko Chapel invites the community to celebrate Earth Day with an evening of powerful poetry and music. The Earth Day Poetry Fest, curated by acclaimed spoken word artist Outspoken Bean in collaboration with Writers in the Schools (WITS), will showcase performances that highlight the environment, sustainability, and our shared responsibility to care for the planet.
This special event will feature the dynamic talents of Meta4 Houston, the city’s leading youth poetry slam team, alongside local poet and Meta4 coach Adam Mac and musician DFoy. Through original works, these artists will use spoken word to inspire reflection and action on environmental justice and collective well-being.

The Rothko Chapel is excited to bring together voices that challenge, uplift, and move us to think more deeply about our relationship with the Earth. Poetry has the power to spark change, and this event will be a testament to that.
Experience an evening of art, activism, and creative expression in the sacred space of Rothko Chapel. Learn more and plan your visit at rothkochapel.org.
