Since reopening in December after extensive repairs from Hurricane Beryl, Rothko Chapel has once again become a sanctuary for reflection, art, and dialogue. With its walls and ceiling restored and Mark Rothko’s iconic panels carefully conserved, the Chapel invites visitors to experience its tranquil atmosphere and engage with a dynamic lineup of programs and events this spring.
March 2025 marks a season of thought-provoking discussions, meditative experiences, and cultural events at the Chapel. Visitors can participate in weekly guided meditations, explore the intersection of art and spirituality, and attend special conversations with leading scholars, activists, and artists. Signature programs such as the Annual Óscar Romero Award, honoring human rights leaders, and the Contemplation in Action Series continue to draw engaged audiences.

“We are so grateful to be fully open and welcoming the community back into this sacred space,” said Executive Director David Leslie. “The response has been incredible, and we invite everyone to visit—whether for quiet reflection or to take part in our rich programming.”
In addition to its public programs, the Chapel remains a place for personal contemplation, offering a peaceful retreat in the heart of Houston. The Suzanne Deal Booth Welcome House, located at 1410 Sul Ross Street, is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., providing information, hospitality, and resources for visitors.
Whether experiencing the Chapel for the first time or returning after its reopening, now is the perfect time to visit. Explore upcoming events, plan your visit, or support the Chapel’s mission at rothkochapel.org.
